The Lemon features

the lemon is a citrus fruit much appreciated for its numerous and beneficial properties and for this reason, since ancient times, it was considered a sort of "panacea for all ills".

the lemon fruit is yellow on the outside and white on the inside; its spongy pulp is divided into segments and is sour and juicy, while the peel is rough and particularly useful for obtaining essences, such as pectin. The seeds contained in the fruit are ground and used to obtain an essential, particularly aromatic oil.

Lemon is an excellent antiseptic and bactericide, but not only: it is also a valid aid for those with few immune defenses as it is able to "increase" the production of white blood cells, it is also refreshing, detoxifying, and soothing. It is also excellent against rheumatic pains and acts well as a "shield" against high blood pressure. It is also particularly suitable for those who suffer from anemia and is a good gastro-hepatic-pancreatic stimulator.

Use of lemon in the kitchen
As everyone knows, lemon in the kitchen is widely used, both in the form of juice and as a condiment and enriches many dishes; it easily combines with meat and fish and in many cases it is also used to replace vinegar. But not only: it is excellent for making marinades even of dark meats or game, also because it has the characteristic of being able to remove that classic taste of wild, not to everyone's liking. It also has the property of preventing some vegetables and fruits from blackening once cut: this is why lemon juice is widely used in fruit salads. Its rind, very aromatic, is often inserted into the ingredients to prepare many desserts and savory dishes, as long as only the yellow part is “scratched” and not the white part which is bitter and unpleasant. Finally the "classic" drink of southern Italy: limoncello, a liqueur originating from Campania, generally served in restaurants after a meal, prepared with lemon juice, alcohol and sugar.
